Our puppy piles are growing... Everyone has grown so much, we upgraded our elastic whelping bands to real collars! I'm not sure how it's possible, but the collars really take the cuteness level up a notch!
We are 2.5 weeks old now and doing great! All eyes are wide open and the puppy scoot is evolving into a crawl as their little legs get stronger! We are loving watching them learn and grow... and it only gets better from here!

Sadie's six are all doing fantastic! Everyone's eyes and ears are open and they were super snuggly for today's photoshoot. We love seeing those baby blue eyes looking back at us.
We have been calling them our "hungry hungry hippos." They are as round as can be and never miss a chance to eat. Ha! Ha! Stella's pack will be two weeks old tomorrow! It's been another quiet week. Their eyes are starting to peek open, little pink noses are turning black/brown, and they are all growing rapidly right before our eyes!
Stella is the sweetest mama! She never stops feeding, cleaning, and cuddling her little crew. These babies definitely know love and we are looking forward to showering them with even more love once they are a little more mobile! For now, as hard as it is, we'll let them do most of their cuddling with their mama and littermates. Six sweet sleeping siblings!
Tomorrow marks one week with these little cuties! The time is already flying by. The first week was quiet. Sadie rarely leaves whelping box and it's a good things, because these babies were definitely born hungry! Ha! Ha! It's pretty rare for us to walk in and not find at least the majority eating. We are looking forward to eyes and ears opening soon! We are celebrating our one week birthday a day early this week!
Stella's 13 are all doing wonderful. The first week was pretty uneventful. Stella and the pups spent their days snuggled up, eating/feeding, and napping. It was very calm and quiet week around here... Which are funny adjectives to use when talking about 13 puppies.... Let's see how we describe the time in about 4 weeks. Ha! Ha! This week we are looking forward to eyes and ears opening up! Once that happens, I'll get videos of everyone, post to the blog, and puppy selections will begin. :) I just wanted to post a quick update. Sadie, Stella, and all the babies are doing great. Sadie and Stella are proud, attentive mothers and doing a fantastic job keeping everyone clean, fed, warm, and happy.
On February 5th, 2024 Sadie and Stella added a lot of extra love to the world!
Sadie welcomed 6 sweet pups! Stella welcomed 13 sweet pups! Sadie and Stella are both doing great! They are eating well, cuddling the babies, and enjoying some much needed (and deserved) rest. We'll let the mamas bond with their babies for a few days and then start working on first photoshoots! Last night around 7pm, Sadie had her first puppy! (A full six days late!)
Once again, Stella couldn't let her have all the attention, and welcomed her first puppy (a day early) at 8pm! It was a late night and the parents (both human and canine) are sleepy, but well today! Everything went very smooth and the mommas are doing great. I'll circle back with details and pictures later this afternoon... Stay tuned! :)
We should all know by now, Miss Sadie Jade does everything in her own time... and that timing is ALWAYS late! Ha! Ha!
No babies yet, but Sadie is doing great! Sweet, happy, healthy girl. Sadie and Stella paid a visit to the vet for an ultrasound this morning!
We are excited to report both girls look extremely healthy and their litters look right on track for their estimated due dates! Sadie is due around January 30th and Stella is due around February 6th. The ultrasound tech estimated 6 puppies for Sadie and 7 puppies for Stella. Our family can't wait to meet these sweet babies in just a few short weeks! |
