Temperament: The Portuguese Water Dog is a breed unlike any other! They are smart, energetic, and radiate personality. They are generally a happy-go-lucky kind of dog who thrive off of making their family happy and proud. They are eager to please and excited to learn! They are sensitive, sweet, and typically get along well with children, people, and other animals.
Size: The Portuguese Water Dog is considered a medium sized dog. Males range from 20-22 inches tall and 40-55 pounds. Females range from 17-20 inches tall and 35-50 pounds. Coat: The Portuguese Water Dog coat has two varieties: Curly and Wavy. They can be white, black, brown, or a combination of brown and white or black and white. Their single layer coat and minimal shedding make them considered hypoallergenic. They do require regular brushing and grooming. |
