Miss One
Our first born! She weighed in at 9.8 ounces and has the most white markings of all our female puppies.
The big 8 weeks has quickly arrived and in just a few short days our River girl will be heading home with her forever family. We know they are so excited to meet her and she is certainly ready to meet them. She loves bones, toys that make noise, dinner time and cuddling! She is sleeping through the night (albeit with an early wake up) and takes care of business right away when taken outside. We're going to miss this sweet girl! Last night we played with peanut butter flavored puppy bubbles! River was definitely the most cautious when it came to the swarm of bubbles coming her way. She was not too sure at first, but once realizing they wouldn't hurt her, she walked around popping them with her little nose. She never did taste them!

Miss River has turned into the sweetest pup in the litter. She is very easy going, eager to please, and full of affection. My husband has really fallen for this little girl. She follows him around like a shadow.
Crate training has been going great! She has not had a single accident in her crate and slept through the night for the first time last night. We're continuing to work on house training, but she is off to a great start. She loves to be praised and loved on, so I'm confident she'll catch on quickly. Six weeks old! Miss River is doing absolutely wonderful. She loves puppy food, enjoys chasing us and her mom around the yard, and is such a sweet girl. She is one of the more laid back puppies in the litter. She likes to play, but also loves to lay around and chew on a toy. She doesn't usually away from her people and likes to watch and take everything in.
This happy-go-lucky little lady is ringing 5 week in with teeth, a little bit of personality, and a desire to be loved on. She is one the biggest pups in the litter. She loves to play and her tail is always wagging! She enjoys being talked to and seems to really be taking in all we have to say to her.
Little teeth are starting to shine through, so we look are looking forward to starting puppy food this week. Also, we plan to introduce them water play some time over the next few days! Pictures of that experience will follow soon. Miss River is a whole new pup this week! Her ears are open and she is ready to explore. There was no keeping her cooped up in the whelping box any longer. She is a strong girl and was climbing out just as fast as we could put her in. So, everyone got upgraded to the puppy play pen.
She is playing with her litter mates and is always the first one to remind Mama Lola that it's time to eat! She is very vocal when hungry! This week, we are looking forward to teeth breaking through, experimenting with toys, and getting lots of love and cuddles from them! Eyes are all the way open and Miss River is starting to respond to sounds, which means ears are opening up as well. She is definitely a snuggle bug, we almost never see her without a buddy by her side. We are looking forward to personalities to start taking shape and for them to begin learning how to play!
It was a great week for this little lady. Not only did she receive her name, River, but she is also getting her first peek at the world. Slowly, but surly we are starting to see more and more of those baby blues. She is getting stronger every day and the puppy scoot is beginning to resemble a crawl.
This week we look forward to eyes opening all the way up, and ears beginning to open! Miss 1 had an exciting first week! She had the honor of being pick of the litter, doubled her birth weight, and spent all of her time being lovingly cared for by her sweet Mama.
We are looking forward to eyes beginning to open this week and for her to continue gaining and growing. |
