Sweet Dottie is 6 weeks old! Time is flying by. We started the very basics of house training Thursday and we are off to a good start! Dottie loves the praise she gets when going outside and seems very eager to please. So, I'm confident she will pick up on it fast! On Monday, we plan to start tackling crate training! Both of these milestones are big signs that their time with us is quickly coming to an end.

Lots of exciting things have happened over the last few days, so it seemed necessary to squeeze in a mid week update! Most importantly, Miss 2 has been found by her forever family is officially Dottie! We are loving getting to call this sweet girl by name. It's even better that she gets to spend her whole life with her brother, Marco. (Previously known as puppy 4.) We can't wait for their new family to meet them! We are certain they'll love these two just as much as we do!
In other news, puppy food has begun and Dottie was quite impressed! She immediately dug right into her bowl and finished off every single bite. We did a weigh in a few days ago and Miss Dottie was a whopping 4.13 pounds. She loves bath time, playing in the water bowl, toys, and cuddling! She is extremely intrigued with the baby and loves to be loved on! I can't believe this little lady will be ready to head home in just 3 short weeks! She is such a sweet, fun, playful little girl. From very early on, she has been the most interested in people. She is always the first pup to greet us when we walk by, she is the most gentle when playing, and does not like when her brothers start to play too rough! Little teeth are starting to emerge, which means puppy food will be started in the near future. We can't wait to see what they all think about that!
The beautiful spring weather we had today was too good to pass up! So I took the pups outside for the first time, and decided to have our weekly photo shoot a day early! Miss 2 was a brave explorer. She is a curious little girl and instantly wanted to take a look around. (Which is why she has a few less pictures than the rest of the gang, she was not interested in holding still today!)
Our princess is another week older! Eyes are open, those little legs are strong, and she is navigating her way around the whelping box with ease. We upgraded everyone from the small pool to the larger one, and the whole litter adjusted with ease! Everyone is learning to use their voices, so we are occasionally greeted with little barks and growls are that we find exceptionally endearing. We are looking forward to ears fully opening this week and for playing to begin!
We can finally see her little eyes peeking through! She is getting bigger and stronger every day. Her scoot is slowly transforming into a crawl. Once those ears open (probably within the next week or so) she will be ready to play! Fun times are quickly approaching.
